Park My Phone is a great way to save money on your phone bills if you just want to give up some of your phone lines but not the phone number, or if you are moving to a different city, state, country or going away for a while. After you sign up, we will port your phone number to our system. You can select from different options how to process your call when it comes in; you can just leave an outgoing message or choose to forward your calls to a different number.
Get the instructions here. For carriers that aren't listed, call your service provider and ask for your Number Transfer PIN or Port Out PIN.
Please check our step by step guide for a smoother and hassle free porting process.
For landline numbers, it can take from 1 to 5 business days to port over your number, depending on the details and accuracy of the LNP form you fill out for us. For cell phone numbers, the porting process usually takes 1 to 3 business days, but we offer an Express Porting service to speed up this process to potentially less than 24 (business) hours. Unfortunately for landlines, we cannot control the process and the time it takes to port a number. The losing company obviously does not want to lose a customer and sometimes they make it harder to port a number away from them.
Canadian numbers take longer, unfortunately, due to complications and regulations in Canada. It can take a week or two to port Canadian numbers. We encourage you to contact your representatives to make things a bit easier in your market.
Yes, this is your number, so you can port it anywhere you wish at any time. You must notify us via call or email that you intend to port your phone number in order for us to stop charging you.
Email us at sales@parkmyphone.com or call us at 877 727 5698.
No. We do not charge you for porting away your number, if you let us know that you intend to port your phone number away. Your new provider might charge for porting your number; please consult with them before taking such an action.
If you have signed for a one year prepaid package, you might not be eligible for a refund for your unused period. Please see the other questions in this section for more on that.
No. If you want to keep your phone number, do not cancel your service before the transfer is complete. It is impossible to port a canceled phone number. If you do cancel your account and still ask us to port your phone number, you agree to pay us the porting fee ($20) even if we cannot port your number in such a case.
If you knowingly ask us to port your phone number after you've already cancelled your account, and we are not able to port your phone number as a result, then you will still be charged the $20 porting fee.
No, the LNP (or LOA, Letter Of Authorization) form must be signed by the current owner of the phone number. Your request will be denied if there is a mismatch between the owner's record with the phone company and the LOA form.
What you are trying to do is turn your DSL service "naked." We cannot guarantee that any of the services or features currently attached to your phone line will be preserved. You should check and double check that with your current phone company, since many companies disable features and services on a phone line after it is ported away.
That said, we have had customers succeed in converting their DSL phone line to a naked DSL. Here are the main steps a customer shared with us for achieving a naked DSL after porting a number to us while keeping DSL service:
- Sign up to manage your account online (Verizon customers should go to verizon.net, not verizon.com), log in, and sign up for credit card billing for your DSL service.
- Sign up for Park My Phone service and send in the forms.
- No down time should be observed during the porting process.
- Later, you might receive an email from your DSL company asking you to switch to online credit card billing, if you haven't already done so.
You can read what the FCC says about Local Number Portability directly on their site: fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/numbport.html.
For situations like these, we recommend the SIM card plan. It can be a hassle to port your phone number for brief amounts of time, so instead we can simply ship you a SIM card, let you pay for however much time you're in the US or Canada, and then when you move back, we'll simply deactivate the SIM card.
We have created a plan for customers traveling or living abroad, WiFi Calling. It uses an app that you install on your smartphone and, using the data network (WiFi is best, but mobile data may work if you are not moving), will allow you to make calls to the US and Canada and receive calls from anyone who has your phone number. If the phone is not connected to the internet, callers will be able to leave a message for you, and we will email it to you as well as display it in the app. You will also get text messages to your email and be able to send and reply from there as well.
The price of the plan is close to having voicemail and text together, but we anticipate it will save you money when you need to call businesses, friends, and family in the US. Best of all, it will allow you to behave as if you never left, aside from the time difference.
In addition to the WiFi Calling plan, we also developed an option for you to use your number on any unlocked GSM device (T-Mobile phones should work as well) when you come for a visit.
Yes, you can still use WhatsApp even if your number is parked. As long as you remain logged in on your device, WhatsApp will continue to work normally even if your number is parked under a plan without SMS or call capability.
However, if you log out and need to sign back in, especially on a new device, WhatsApp will require a verification code to authenticate your number. To receive this code, your plan must allow you to receive SMS or calls.
If you are currently on our Voicemail or Deep Freeze plan, which does not include SMS or call capability, you can upgrade to one of the following options to receive the verification code:
- ✓SMS add on, $5 per month
- ✓Call Forwarding, receive the code via voice call, $6 per month
- ✓WiFi Calling plan, unlimited calls and texts with voicemail, $13 per month
Yes, and you can choose to either receive all the calls on a single telephone, or through a separate telephone for each number. You can even mix and match. Just let us know your specific needs and we will do our best to fill your request. Call us at 1-877-727-5698 or chat with us online.
Yes. Park My Phone is the ideal service if you are changing your service provider to companies like Vonage and MagicJack and they are not able to port your phone number.
After porting your phone number to us, you can leave a message telling your callers about your new phone number. If they leave you a message, you can receive it via email, or by calling in to our system using any regular phone.
Contact us with your phone number so we can check the availability for your phone number.
Yes, we transfer the caller ID if it is available. The call is completely transparent, so you should receive all information that is sent to us.
The file is in .WAV format. You can play it from your PC, Mac, and most cell phones that have internet access.
Yes. For US numbers parking landline, toll free and cell phone numbers, we have a 6 month minimum payment requirement. With faxes and Canadian numbers, this requirement is one year (12 months). However, if you selected the 12 month prepaid discounted offer, you will not receive any refund.
Porting your number involves direct expenses and is labor intensive. Your first annual payment will cover the cost of porting your number and your first 12 months of service. You can port your number away from us any time you choose (after the first 30 days), but this payment is not refundable.
If you find you need more minutes, you can customize your package by adding bulks of 100 minutes to your forwarding package for $2/month. So you can have a plan with 600, 700, 1600 or 1700 minutes if you wish. We do not have "gotcha" charges for a few minutes of overage. Regardless, we do ask that you stay within the limits of your plan.
Our service was designed for a longer period of time. However, we now offer a service we call Short Term Parking. This service is designed for customers who need our service for a short term, a few days to a month. It is mainly used by mobile customers wanting to change their plan, but can also be used with a landline. Feel free to contact us if you have more questions.
We charge your account every calendar month at the beginning of the month. However, if your monthly charges are less than $10, you will be charged every 3 months, in order for us to save on credit card fees. You will still be eligible for a pro-rated refund for any unused period of service, should you decide to cancel. If you have signed for an annual service agreement, your account will be charged only once for that year.
You can switch your service to a quarterly or even a month-to-month service. Please note: if your plan's total monthly charges are less than $10, we will charge you only once every 3 months, in order to keep credit card fees as low as possible.
We have switched to electronic-only order processing and are not able to provide paper forms. Most customers can find a friend or a relative to help them sign up on our website. Just click the button in the top right corner of the screen where it says Sign Up.
